About APJ Ltd

APJ Computing Solutions

APJ Computing Solutions is a specialist database development and consultancy company. Our focus is designing solutions that add significant value to our clients businesses by supporting and automating business processes. We measure our success by the positive impact our solutions the businesses we work with. We make it our business to really understand your business so that your investment in our services produces results where they really count, on the bottom line.

I started APJ Computing Solutions late in 1994 after being made redundant from a Computational Fluid Dynamics software support role (software used to analyse dynamic events, like a bird strike on a jet engine's turbine blades, and automotive airbag deployment). APJ Ltd was incorporated in 1999 and has been providing database development, support and consultancy services ever since.

We have a number of expert partners with whom we work closely as and when needed for an individual project.

Paul Jansen

I have been designing and developing database solutions since 1994, predominately using the FileMaker Platform, and consider myself very fortunate to be earning a living doing something I really enjoy and which gives me immense satisfaction.

For me, each development project is a series of problems to be solved:

Solving problems is what excites and motivates me and the more I can break down a project into bite size problems the happier I am. I really enjoy getting under the skin of a business and understanding where software like FileMaker can make a real difference. Most of all though, FileMaker is just fun to work with. It's also inherently fast to develop with so you can get results quickly.

When I'm not working, I really like to get outside - walking, rock climbing, cycling or sailing. Anything that doesn't involve technology of any kind. But not on my own. Spending time with family or friends whilst out in the mountains or by the lake is my idea of heaven. (Note to self: spend less time working and more outside.)
